The BEST-COST healthier R package is now available on CRAN. This allows the R package tool to be more accessible for users, as it can be directly installed from R studio. It also complies with the quality standards of CRAN, ensuring that the tool is of a high standard.

The healthiar R package is a calculation tool for quantifying and monetising the burden of disease attributable to different environmental exposures (including air and noise pollution). By using different calculation pathways and input data, it combines three dimensions – health, monetisation, and social aspects – to present a fuller understanding of the socioeconomic costs resulting from pollution. healthiar can then be used to build a more solid basis for evidence-based policy making, by looking at different socioeconomic factors that influence people’s susceptibility to health impacts from pollution.

healthiar is also available on Github, and a new Github page that offers a beginner-friendly platform to using the tool. You can read more about the Github tool here.
